Gunditjmara Aboriginal Cooperative is in an exciting phase of growth. Our dynamic team at Kepler Street provide a range of high quality community health and social support programs principally to the Aboriginal community and other residents in Warrnambool and surrounding areas. We are currently looking for a Social and Emotional Wellbeing Koori Female Caseworker to join our expanding team.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Community Services, you will facilitate healing and improvements in the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their families, affected by past policies and practices of forced removal, using culturally appropriate support and counselling. Full time. 

What we are looking for

  • Community knowledge and relevant experience in a professional support role
  • Willingness to complete a counselling qualification, funded by Gunditjmara
  • Sound knowledge of intergenerational challenges faced by Aboriginal women
  • Case management experience 

This is an Indigenous Identified role only open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The filling of this position is intended to constitute a special measure under section 8(1) of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth), and s12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic).
