First Steps Count Child and Community Centre Taree is seeking an experienced individual with excellent stakeholder management skills; a track record of best practice in governance, organisational and financial management and operations. The Transition Manager will be responsible to ensure First Steps Count moves successfully through its construction phase to function as one of NSW’s first ‘one stop shop’ child and community centres. This contract position is an opportunity to deliver an innovative project championed by the local community, and backed by government to enable better support for all families and the professionals who work with them in the Taree region.
The person appointed will be responsible for coordinating and supervising all the steps and activities essential to enable the establishment and success of First Steps Count. To achieve this the Transition Manager will liaise with all the stakeholders including the Board of Management exercising overall responsibility, the Project Construction Team, First Steps Count Aboriginal Advisory Group, MidCoast Council, University partners, local community members, service providers and funding bodies including the NSW State Government and private philanthropy.
The role will suit somebody with stakeholder co-ordination experience, process oriented, outcome driven and able to progress a construction project to occupational capacity; a skilled multi-tasker with good communications. Experience in community engagement, government relations and an understanding of the human services sector will be highly regarded. The position is an 18 month fixed term contract based in Taree.
