“We are three young women who love music, fashion, nail polish, bush walks, cafes, sport and visiting our families. We also happen to have some special needs. We live together in our house in Roseville. Our home is filled with warmth and love and has been set up especially for us and our needs.

About Fighting Chance

Fighting Chance designs, builds and scales social enterprises which move the dial for Australians with disability and their family. We work to identify the challenges, hurdles and barriers faced by people with disability in their everyday lives and then design and build sustainable social enterprise businesses to bridge these gaps. One of these social enterprises is our shared accommodation service.

Are you looking for a job which provides flexibility and the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of three young women with some special needs?

You will be providing support for three young women within their home and out in the community. Home and community-based activities are centred on their needs and interests, such as going shopping, to the cafe, getting out and about and dancing or supporting them if they need to be driven (or via public transport) to various appointments or to visit their families.

We are looking for reliable, committed and empathetic individuals to provide quality care as a Support Worker/s.

Your Skills and Personal Attributes:

  • Experience as a support worker or carer.
  • A positive and energetic personality.
  • A commitment to providing responsive, person-centred and considerate care.
  • You are someone who prioritises punctuality and reliability.
  • Flexible and adaptive communication skills, with a willingness to learn.

  • Availability for various shifts throughout the week in the Roseville area.
  • Availability of at least 8-15 hours and in peak times (2pm - 8pm) will be highly regarded
  • Available for immediate start
  • Preferable - Drivers Licence and access to own car
  • 2 contactable referees
  • HLTAID003 Provide First Aid, National Police Check and Working With Children Check
