FareShare rescues food that would otherwise go to waste and cooks it into nutritious meals for people in crisis. We run Australia's largest charity kitchens and cook 30,000 meals each week in Abbotsford with a volunteer workforce supervised by experienced chefs. We are seeking experienced cooks/catering chefs to lead our large, busy production kitchen. We have full time and part time positions available – including some week-day work, evening work, and weekend daytime work.

We need confident professionals with strong communications and team working skills.

The successful candidates will produce high quality casseroles and soups, creating up to 200 litres at a time. Our chefs must also supervise shifts, directing up to 25 volunteers in basic kitchen tasks working creatively and flexibly with available rescued ingredients.

Applicants must have appropriate chef qualifications (Cert III), food handling and first aid certificates, extensive commercial kitchen experience and be prepared to obtain a Working With Children check.

The position reports to our Production Manager.
