Enova Community Ltd is the Not for Profit arm of Enova Community Energy Ltd, it has its own Constitution, Board of Directors, and is a registered charitable organisation.

Enova Community’s vision is for communities across regional NSW to take charge of their own power so that everyone can access renewable energy and use it in the most efficient way. It is also seeking DGR status, but meantime has DGR status for its educational objective through the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR). It exists to carry out energy education to build an energy aware community, and to carry out social benefit projects, to ensure that all can participate in the shift to renewables.

Purpose of the Role

The Enova Community Manager (3 days per week /pro-rated) is responsible for planning and delivering the development of Enova Community in line with Enova Communities’ objectives, and planning and managing the budget within funding allocated by Enova Community Energy, and grants obtained.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring adequate funding for Enova Community.
  • Planning and managing the educational activities of Enova Community.
  • Management of volunteers.
  • Writing or oversight of production of materials for training purposes and for presentations to organisations, clubs, and schools.
  • Manage approach to organisations in the region.
  • Interact with community organisations outside the region to determine what educational activities can be offered to partners and with partners to their communities.
  • Planning and managing social benefit projects.
    • Respond to approaches, develop plans, manage internal interactions necessary for agreed projects.
  • Building and maintaining productive links with State, Local Government and Community bodies.
    • To ensure they are aware and supportive of the social enterprise purpose and activities of Enova.
    • Represent Enova Community at events and workshops and speak at conferences where beneficial to the organisation.
  • Ensuring NFP role of Enova Community in community is known and recognised.


  • High level planning and management skills - Ability to think strategically, plan, manage, and ensure execution of plans for the development of the organisation in line with organisational objectives.
  • Communication - Excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of influencing others with structured and logical arguments. Confident with media.
  • Facilitation - Ability to facilitate others to achieve outcomes in groups.
  • Relationship Building - Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and key influencers. High level influencing skills.
  • Stakeholder Management - The ability work with key stakeholders to achieve objectives.
  • Time Management - Demonstrated organisational skills, personal motivation and initiative. The ability to work to deadlines while maintaining accuracy & quality of work.
  • Ability to work independently - Ability to work without supervision and maintain commitment without a close working team.
  • Analytical - Ability to think analytically, i.e. able to analyse and identify root cause to solve diverse problems, and develop and implement solutions
  • Flexibility & Resilience - Ability to adapt to the pressures within a rapidly changing working and industry environment. Ability to perceive, evaluate and make the most of opportunities for the organisation from diverse origins.
  • Relevant degree or similar tertiary qualification.


Must have experience in:

  • Planning, and managing the delivery of major programs or key outcomes for an organisation.
  • Writing and winning grants.
  • Working with government and voluntary organisations, and desirably, with businesses, and at all levels of seniority.
  • Working with external vendors, external organisations, and across internal teams to deliver on key responsibilities and achieve outcomes.
  • Presenting to groups of various sizes, presenting to media.
  • Facilitating group work.
  • Analysing issues/problems and writing reports with recommendations.
  • Multi-tasking and delivering to deadlines.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience.


  • Already well-developed links in local community; good knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to Enova as a social enterprise, and able to hit the ground running.
