We are seeking a qualified, experienced and enthusiastic Financial Counsellor to provide financial counselling assistance, support and advocacy to individuals who are experiencing financial hardship and financial difficulty

  • Part Time Position (3 days per week)
  • Boronia Location, Victoria
  • Not For Profit Salary Packaging Available

About the Role:

  • Provide professional financial counselling to the target group to reduce financial hardship and financial difficulties experienced and resulting from a range of factors including gambling related harm.
  • Provide a 'recovery focused' and 'harm minimisation' model of practice offering service options to clients and their affected others that is holistic and strengths based.
  • Identify and respond to the range of co-occurring mental health, social and primary health issues associated with financial hardship and gambling related harm to provide an integrated and collaborative care response within a multidisciplinary - Integrated Service Team (IST) Area Based structure.
  • Referral to other EACH services and relevant local service providers
  • Promotion of the service both within EACH and the broader community.

EACH provides:

  • A generalist financial counselling (FC) services in partnership with Anglicare Victoria, funded through Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV). EACH delivers this FC program in the Outer East catchment of Melbourne with Anglicare servicing the Inner East catchment.
  • A financial counselling stream as part of the Gambler's Help Eastern Program, with service locations in all 7 LGA's in the Eastern Metropolitan Region. This service is funded by the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation (VGRF).
  • A generalist financial counselling stream funded through Local Government - Knox City Council

The successful candidate will be based in Boronia however may be required to work from any EACH site/s within the Eastern Metropolitan Region as determined by program need.

About You

You will require:

  • Diploma of Financial Counselling/ or equivalent, fully or partially completed or enrolled
  • Eligible for membership of the Financial and Consumer Rights Council (FCRC)
  • Current Working with Children Check (employee card only)
  • Current Police Check, including international if relevant
