About us:

Direct Care Resources, a leading SE Queensland care provider requires Support Workers to provide residential personal care, support and supervision to adults with an intellectual and/or psychiatric disability and children and young people under Child Protective Orders. We endeavour to deliver client-focused service through providing a high-level of personal care and aim to be recognised as a provider of choice by current and potential clients, their families and government agencies (both locally and nationally).

About the role:

We are currently seeking experienced Support Workers to deliver quality care to our clients and engage in practices that enhance the dignity and integrity of the client’s independence.

As a Support Worker, you will have varied shifts, including short day & community access shifts, Awake (night) shifts and the possibility of working 7 days On/7 days Off Live-In.

Your duties may include (but are not limited to) implementation of the client’s Individual Personal Plan; bathing/showering & dressing assistance; healthy meal planning & preparation; cleaning, laundry, ironing & light household duties; mobility assistance; companionship & conversation; transporting clients to medical appointments & shopping; medication management; and client’s money management.

About you:

  • Experience in care/support roles is high regarded
  • Possession of or willingness to apply and qualify for a Queensland Government ‘Positive Notice of Child Related Employment’ (Blue Card)
  • Possession of or willingness to apply and qualify for a Queensland Government ‘Disability Services Positive Notice Card’ (Yellow Card)
  • Current Open Driver’s Licence and access to a registered four-door vehicle with comprehensive insurance
  • Willingness to travel to locations throughout Brisbane, Ipswich, Toowoomba, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast
  • Current first aid certificate or willingness to apply
  • The following qualifications are also highly regarded but not essential:- Certificate IV in Community Services; Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance; Certificate III in Health Services Assistance; Certificate III in Aged Care, Disability or Community Support (or equivalent experience); other qualifications in disability care, youth work, aged care or related fields.
