Darebin City Council is looking for Senior Environment Programs Officer (Sustainable Consumption) to lead Council’s waste education, food and sustainable consumption programs, in this full time ongoing role in the Climate Emergency and Sustainable Transport team.
Darebin Council is recognised as a leader in the development and delivery of environmental policies, practices and programs, and was the first Council to declare a Climate Emergency in 2017.
We have achieved national, state and professional recognition with awards across waste and litter, sustainable education programs; community partnerships and overall environmental management.
You will be working as part of the Climate Emergency and Environment Programs team, where you will be responsible for leading Council’s community facing waste education, food and sustainable consumption programs. You will have the chance to make a direct impact by implementing projects and initiatives within Council’s Waste and Litter Strategy and Urban Food Production Strategy.
You will have the chance to identify partnership opportunities for innovative projects and trials, develop community education campaigns, support strategies and programs and advocate Council’s objectives.
You will also have two team members to support you as direct reports, which focus on waste education and avoidance.
