Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria (DVRCV)’s vision is to create a world in which gender equality ensures women and their children are thriving, respected and free from violence.

We are a statewide organisation working across prevention and response providing:

In 2019, DVRCV will launch its new 5 year strategy which sets out an ambitious leadership role in building the capability of professionals, organisations and systems in the prevention of and response to violence against women.

Your Role

The Domestic Violence Resource Centre (DVRCV) is one of Victoria’s most expert sources of information and training on family violence and the prevention of violence against women. We ensure professionals recognise the different forms of family violence, understand what drives it and have the resources, information, tools and training to respond to it and prevent violence from occurring in the first place.

PVAW Trainers are responsible for the delivery of DVRCV’s PVAW training packages. The PVAW Trainer will deliver DVRCV’s prevention training packages in line with DVRCV training standards and professional code of conduct. Trainers in PVAW team will be required to deliver PVAW training to participants from a wide range of backgrounds and organisations across Victoria, as a sole trainer or in a co-facilitation role.

PVAW trainers will also be required to support the development and review of content for new and existing prevention training packages and resources.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in health promotion, community development, education and training or similar.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
  • Expertise in the development, design and review of training for adult learners
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating groups and training to a diverse range of audiences
  • Sound understanding of Change the Story, Australia’s National Framework to Prevent Violence Against Women and their Children
  • Detailed knowledge of the prevention of violence against women sector
  • Knowledge and understanding of feminist frameworks
  • Group and/or training facilitation skills
  • Experience in developing training
  • Public speaking skills
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound computer literacy and proficiency in use of Microsoft Office
