CQUniversity is seeking motivated, high quality applicants for a PhD scholarship investigating the life history and reproductive characteristics of female mud crabs (Scylla serrata).
You will be based at CQUniversity’s exciting new Coastal and Marine Ecosystem Research Centre, at our Gladstone Marina Campus.
The PhD project will be supervised by CQUniversity researchers and fisheries scientists from Queensland’s Department of Agriculture and Fisheries’ Ecosciences Precinct and Bribie Island Research Centre.
The aim of this research project is to investigate the life history and reproductive characteristics of female mud crabs on Queensland’s east coast, providing new information on the species and informing the future development Queensland’s harvest strategy for the fishery.
Expressions of interest for this scholarship are encouraged from applicants with previous research experience (Honours degree or Masters) and qualifications in (or with components of) marine biology or fisheries science.
