Based in our Charleston office, you will join the wider Community Engagement Program Delivery (CEPD) Division in this pivotal role, working closely with our large team of committed volunteers and local supporters, ensuring that Cancer Council continue building strong partnerships and ongoing volunteer support at a truly local level.

An internal move has created this rare 4 day per week opportunity to be based in our Charlestown office!

What’s involved?

To continue the high level volunteer support in local communities, and to ensure we are organisations first choice of Not for Profit to support, key responsibilities of your role will be to:

  • Implement the regional volunteer strategy and manage key stakeholder relationships
  • Identify and build strategic relationships to support volunteer growth
  • Build the profile of the Cancer Council as an outstanding volunteer organisation of choice,
  • attracting a highly skilled volunteer workforce across the region
  • Coordinate regional volunteers including recruitment, orientation, training and support
  • Provide ongoing management support and supervision to regional/community office volunteers
  • Coordinate networking and training to provide volunteers with opportunities to strengthen their
  • knowledge, skill and connection with CCNSW
  • Ensure volunteers are engaged through consistent and effective communication, through
  • various channels

Who are you?

Change is constant in progression, so we need innovative, natural networkers and collaborators, with a genuine passion for communicating the value volunteers can make to an organisation, this role will need you to have:

  • Previous success in building stakeholder relationships in communities to support the growth
  • of a volunteer workforce
  • With approx. 25% of the role administration, you will have excellent skills in this area
  • Experience with best practice volunteer strategies and theories will be looked on favourably
  • Ability to coordinate and manage volunteers through the volunteer experience
  • Understanding of unique drivers for each volunteer
  • Demonstrated experience in project and/or program coordination and planning
