Central Australian Women's Legal Service delivers a holistic, culturally safe, trauma informed intensive service model across the Central Australia & Barkly regions.
At CAWLS we aspire for a future where women and their children are safe, living with dignity and respect. Our purpose is to help women in Central Australia and the Barkly Regions with their legal matters; providing legal assistance, community legal education, and specialised support services for those affected by domestic violence.
An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a full time solicitor based in Tennant Creek. CAWLS receives funding under the Womens Safety Package to operate a Domestic Violence Unit in Tennant Creek assisting women who experience or are at risk of experiencing Domestic and Family violence.
This position is well suited to a practitioner with experience in domestic and family violence issues, family law, child protection and other relevant practise areas.
The applicant will need to demonstrate an understanding of the cultural, social and economic issues facing women in the Northern Territory, particularly Central Australia and the Barkly regions.
CAWLS offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated team in a dynamic environment, with flexible conditions and generous leave provisions. An attractive remuneration package is offered including a competitive salary (based on experience), salary sacrifice, relocation & accommodation assistance and use of a company vehicle when travelling remotely.
This is a great opportunity to make a real impact alongside a dedicated, skilled and supportive team.
Due to the nature and requirements of this role, applicants are required to be female.
