BirdLife Australia is seeking an experienced Campaigns Manager to develop and deliver our campaigns to protect Australia’s native birds and nature.

You will lead the organisation’s development and delivery of strategic campaigns to protect important bird habitat, mobilising our network of supporters to become a more powerful voice for nature. You will work with an alliance of environmental not-for-profits to fight for stronger national nature laws and independent institutions to protect and restore Australia’s environment.

The Role

The position will require management of a small team, strong collaboration with staff across departments and other organisations.

Essential skills and experience you have include:

  • Leadership that will inspire your team, the wider organisation and our vast network of supporters to take action and drive change
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering campaignstrategies with clear goals and indicators of success
  • A demonstrated change maker, with deep understanding of power and influence
  • Excellent advocacy skills, a good sense of politics and experience identifying and removing barriers to change
  • Ability to initiate and maintain effective alliances & relationships with external stakeholders and decision makers
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, conflict resolution, issues management, media and communication skills.

Knowledge of current issues relating tonature conservation, including key national environmental governance frameworks, and experience in community organising is desirable.
