Are you looking to for a role where you can work towards reducing community and individual harms around alcohol and other drug (AOD) use?

As the Harm Minimisation Coordinator you will provide leadership to communities in Ballarat and the Central Highlands Catchment by taking a community development approach to supporting local and regional harm reduction initiatives.

The role also provides capacity-building to needle syringe programs (NSP) in Ballarat and the Grampians Region. As the Harm Minimisation Coordinator you will also enhance Ballarat Community Health's (BCH) and partner agencies' endeavours to reduce community and individual harms around Alcohol & Other Drug use.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop an annual harm minimisation activity plan;
  • Build and facilitate local and regional partnerships;
  • Provide education and capacity-building to partner agencies, service users and staff;
  • Provide ongoing support and overview of BCH's various NSP projects;
  • Support and promotion of BCH Peer Network Program; and
  • Lead and support designing and delivering health promotion initiatives.

You will oversee and deliver a number of projects which will be captured in the role's activity plan.
