The Organisation

The Australian Wind Alliance Ltd (AWA) is the national community voice for wind power, bringing together farmers, wind workers and environmentalists to build prosperous, clean-energy powered communities and help Australia tackle climate change. We are a not-for-profit, member-based organisation, established in 2013.

AWA works to promote wind energy, support regional communities to embrace the benefits of wind energy, facilitate a high standard of community engagement by developers and advocate for proactive wind energy and planning policies at all levels.

The Role

AWA is looking for a community leader to build support for wind in regional Victoria and help local communities get the most out the clean energy transition happening across the state.

The Community Organiser will engage supporters to become more active and work with a broad group of community, government and industry stakeholders to identify and progress issues around community outcomes.

Skills

The successful candidate will have:

  • A passion for community work, organising and leadership
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Seasoned media skills, including traditional and social media
  • An ability to work autonomously within an agreed strategy
  • A vision for a clean energy future in regional Victoria.
