This is an exciting new opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic HR professional to help this organisation grow and shape its future growth, drive organisational performance, enhance employee engagement and build people capability.

Established in 1972, The Arnhem Land Progress Aboriginal Corporation (ALPA) has grown to be the largest Aboriginal Corporation in Australia with over 1,100 employees and operating in 27 remote locations across the NT and QLD. Going from strength to strength, we are investing heavily to ensure the success and continued growth and sustainability of our corporation and most importantly our people at all levels throughout the organisation.

We are looking for a high energy, knowledgeable HR professional who can implement and drive HR initiatives and strategies aligned with current and future business needs in a geographically dispersed business.

The successful candidate needs to be able to span from business conversations with the Executive Team to hands on delivery with HR credibility. You will have proven expertise in a wide range of HR activities and demonstrated experience in delivering HR services within a multi sector, geographically diverse organisation.

A key function of this role is the management of the HR Department Team Members to deliver best practice HR; coaching and leadership to ensure all are engaged, working to organisational objectives and delivering on team and individual results.

You will advise, guide and support the Executive Team on all of the HR life cycle activities including future organisational design structures, recruitment plans, team development and appropriate remuneration and reward schemes.

There will be a good mix of operational and strategic HR required together with the ability to be hands on through the implementation of our new ERP; where there will be the need to evaluate existing policies and procedures, deciding on what is to be maintained and what is to be adjusted according to the needs of the business moving forward.

There is strong preference for qualified candidates who have demonstrated senior HR role experience in a medium to large private sector organisation.

All applications will be treated confidentially. As there is an immediate need, only those with the rights to work full time in Australia will be considered.
