As a Service Manager in Ability Care, your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead and manage Ability Care services to deliver flexible, quality services to people requiring support.
  • Directly supervise support staff, including rostering, mentoring and coaching.
  • Lead excellence in service provision in your designated business area. Areas that may include, Day Services, Emergency and Short Term Accommodation, Community Access and Supported Independent Living.
  • Champion and pioneer Ability Care services in South East Queensland / Northern NSW and across the state using local knowledge, relationships and innovation to shape and drive business development.
  • Promote Ability Care services by analysing market trends, seeking consumer feedback, collaborating with stakeholders and responding to need and demand.
  • Work with national team colleagues to contribute to service planning and innovation.
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with industry partners, stakeholders, local communities, state and commonwealth partners, and people receiving support and their and families.
  • With national system supports, assume accountability for the management of all resources and operational processes including human, financial and physical resources, communication/marketing and business processes in your service area.

About You

You will have a good understanding of disability and or aged care with a preference for previous experience in the industry. It would be considered advantageous if you have knowledge of NDIS or individualised funding. You will be a problem solver and enabler and will demonstrate flexibility. You will demonstrate experience in management of disputes or complaints and are able to bring resolution to matters raised in a timely and professional manner. You will have excellent verbal and written communication, with proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook. You will be computer proficient and able to use new applications as they are introduced. You can organise effectively, and meet multiple competing deadlines, while maintaining the highest level of personal and professional integrity. Work location

This role is currently based in Underwood however you may be required to work from alternate office locations, community-based settings and/or other specified settings as determined necessary.
