AVI supports the implementation of the Australian Volunteer Program on behalf of the Australian Government. The program sends Australian volunteers on assignments overseas that are designed to sustainably build the capacity of people, organisations, communities and institutions. Through meaningful volunteer assignments, the program creates enduring links between Australians and people and organisations in partner countries.

The Visa Coordinator, 12 month parental leave back-fill position will be responsible for monitoring and advising on volunteer visa and related clearance requirements for program assignment locations and ensuring systems and processes are effective and facilitate this.

The successful applicant will possess the following:

  • Relevant post-secondary or tertiary qualifications in travel services, business administration and/or equivalent experience
  • Project/program management experience including end-to-end project design and implementation
  • Proven experience in international deployment and associated planning, organisation, logistics and administration
  • Experience in implementing and managing databases and ensuring all functions of the database are operating well for users
  • Strong understanding and experience in office and administration service provision
