Love organising people and projects?

  • Do you have strong organisational skills?
  • Are you great at forming relationships?
  • Would you like to see a positive change in politics?

One Green MP can make a huge difference; electing new Greens representatives for the Canberra community would be an historic moment for our city and for Australian politics.

The ACT Greens are now recruiting for a Field Organiser. This is a fantastic opportunity for a true self-starter to join our Federal Election Campaign Team and help us to turn the political tide.

In this role, you’ll assume responsibility for leading the rollout of the ACT Greens field strategy at the 2019 federal election. Voter contact through our field strategy is an essential element of our campaign to elect more Greens MPs to the federal parliament.

Working closely with the Federal Election Campaign Manager, your role will include:

  • Leading the election field strategy, including doorknocking, phonebanking and volunteer recruitment
  • Training and recruiting volunteers to lead field teams
  • Coordinating field volunteer training, empowering volunteers to attend and run voter contact events
  • Managing databases for volunteer recruitment and voter contact
  • Reporting on progress towards field targets
  • Working with the Campaign Manager and other campaign staff on tasks arising.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have a "can do" attitude, an ability to take responsibility, and a willingness to make a strong contribution. You’ll be an enthusiastic team player and be able to use your excellent communication skills to build relationships with a wide range of people. Your strengths in organising will also be paramount as you’ll be managing competing priorities and working to deadlines.
