  • Do you want to work for a growing, values driven Not-For-Profit Organisation?

We have the opportunity for an amazing Team Leader to lead our Restart and Reconnect programs in Gippsland! The position is based from our new hub in Morwell.

A little bit about ACSO

The Australian Community Support Organisation (ACSO) is a dynamic, values driven NFP, focused on partnering with Government and the community to co-design services that create real social change. We’re an organisation with a bold vision to create a safe and inclusive community freed of crime and prisons. It’s our goal to reduce re-offending and our mission is to help people transition from prison, assist them in the community, stop them from re-offending, and intervene to divert others from committing crime.

The program and the role

The ReStart program aims to address the diverse and complex needs of short sentence (i.e. three months or less, including those on Community Corrections Imprisonment Orders) and unsentenced prisoners by providing pre-release support and assertive outreach support, which promotes sustainable links and reintegration within the community.

Success as a Team Leader requires you to have strong leadership qualities and a sound understanding of the challenges faced by people exiting custody. Reporting to the Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day service delivery of ReStart and Reconnect, supervising a medium sized team to ensure quality client outcomes. This is either a full-time or part time position based from our Morwell Hub.

What we’re looking for?

  • Ethical, self-motivated and committed to helping others achieve their goals
  • A minimum diploma level qualification in Community Services, Mental Health or a similar field
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Knowledge of the challenges faced by those leaving the prison system, and an interest and willingness to work with those presenting with high risk offence histories
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A strong sense of personal accountability and resilience.
  • The ability to obtain National Criminal Record and Working with Children Checks.

What ACSO can offer you

  • Full time or part time, ongoing position based from Morwell
  • $76K full time base salary + superannuation + Great NFP salary packaging (which means more $$ in your pocket! $89k approx package)
  • An opportunity to be part of our brand-new leadership development program that is being introduced to all leaders at ACSO this year
  • A supportive and collaborative team.
  • An opportunity to add value and lead a team to success.
