The St Vincent de Paul Society (SA) Inc is a major international charitable and voluntary organisation that has been operating in South Australia since 1884. Our principal role is to provide for, or alleviate, the needs of disadvantaged people in the community.

The Financial Wellbeing Case Coordinator will play a vital role in providing culturally sensitive and personalised support to referred clients, aiding them in accessing services and assistance to navigate pathways towards financial stability. Reporting to the Community Programs Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for case management, advocacy, and coordination to ensure clients receive the necessary support to address financial crises and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide immediate case management support to SVDP clients during financial crises and ensure access to eligible services.
  • Collaborate with partners to enhance the financial capability of referred clients, facilitating informed decision-making and improved money management.
  • Utilise a strengths-based approach to assist clients in navigating life transitions and financial stressors.
  • Foster increased satisfaction among case-managed clients with the quality of services received.
  • Work in partnership with local SVDP members as per service level agreements.
  • Advocate for clients' engagement with mainstream community services, including health, employment, and education options.
  • Support clients in navigating complex service systems such as Housing and Centrelink.
  • Provide information and referral pathways to support clients' self-management and empowerment.
  • Implement research and evaluation activities to contribute to program and service improvement.
  • Facilitate case conferences as required to address complex client needs.
  • Develop and maintain external referral networks with relevant community service organisations.
  • Proactively manage critical and complex situations encountered by clients.
  • Maintain accurate and timely client records to facilitate precise reporting to key stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills:

We seek an empathetic and compassionate individual with a bachelor’s degree in social science, preferably community service/social work, who possesses a minimum of 2 years' experience in a case management role within community and financial wellbeing settings.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the ethos, values, and mission of the St Vincent de Paul Society, along with holding a valid Class C Driver’s licence.

Additionally, they must have completed Working with Children check, Working with Vulnerable people check, National Police Checks, and employment health checks.
