About the role

Are you passionate about empowering young people's health and well-being? Join our vibrant team at headspace Knox as a Youth Health Nurse!

As part of our dynamic Youth GP Clinic team, you'll play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive services within our Doctors in Secondary Schools (DiSS) Clinic and headspace GP Youth Clinic. Your mission? To break down barriers to primary health care access for secondary students by providing holistic clinical oversight, encompassing physical health, mental health, and sexual and reproductive health issues.

As the Youth Health Nurse, you will work closely with GPs, Practice Coordinators, and fellow Youth Nurses to ensure seamless care delivery. In addition to this, you'll serve as a vital liaison between school staff, families, and our clinics, fostering positive relationships and promoting health education.

Qualifications

  • Registration as an AHPRA Division 1 Nurse.
  • Experience in youth health, primary care, community health, mental health, and health promotion.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly when engaging with young people.
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate.

Highly regarded qualifications and/or experience:

  • Mental health, youth health and sexual & reproductive training or experience.
  • Experience in working in a youth health setting.
