We are looking for a team of dedicated professionals for the Mt Isa After Hours (MIAH) program three full-time (38 hours per week) positions are available. The program is part of our Domestic Family Violence Specialist Support Service in Mount Isa. Where you come in:

In these full-time permanent positions, you'll work within a case management framework in an outreach role, providing support to individuals who are experiencing domestic, family or sexual violence. Based in Mount Isa you will work closely with Queensland Police Service to provide an afterhours response. Hours will be on a roster system and will be worked between 2pm and 10pm seven days a week, with potential to be on-call when required.

You will make an impact by:

  • Providing holistic case management, delivering support to vulnerable and disadvantaged clients and supporting relationships for favourable client outcomes
  • Ensuring the voices of children and young people are heard
  • Identifying strengths, establishing goals for the program and reviewing client progress towards these goals
  • Promoting skills which increase health, safety and development

Does this sound like you?

You're an experienced practitioner who is passionate about supporting families within a child centred, strengths-based framework. Importantly, you have a strong understanding of the impact of trauma on children and their families and you're keenly aware of the additional impacts and barriers experienced by Indigenous families.

This role requires:

  • Demonstrated experience in case management and knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and families
  • Strong report writing, analytical and evaluation skills, including data collation and analysis
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or significant experience working in a similar service
