About the role:  

As a Social Justice Advocate (Digital), you'll play a pivotal role in coordinating and implementing advocacy campaign strategies with a strong digital focus. Campaigns will focus on disrupting entrenched disadvantage, including drug law reform, climate action and First Nations justice. Your efforts will directly contribute to achieving our campaign goals and bringing about impactful outcomes. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with the Advocacy team to plan and manage campaigns, leveraging digital platforms effectively. 
  • Drive digital campaigns, coordinate online actions, and craft compelling assets to support our causes. 
  • Develop persuasive communications tailored for various digital platforms and audiences. 
  • Manage campaign supporter databases and provide data-driven insights to inform planning and review processes. 
  • Grow our supporter base and oversee the supporter journey, fostering meaningful engagement. 
  • Work closely with stakeholders within Uniting and the wider community to mobilise support and drive change. 
  • Analyse and report on campaign outcomes to continually refine strategies and activities. 
  • Organise campaign-related activities and events in collaboration with internal and external partners. 
  • Conduct training sessions to build the capacity of supporters, staff, and congregations in advocacy methods. 

About You:

  • A proactive and can-do attitude, committed to achieving goals despite challenges. 
  • Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail and a disciplined approach to tasks. 
  • Sound decision-making abilities, guided by a deep understanding of our organisational objectives. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a flair for digital content creation. 
  • Experience in advocacy campaign implementation, web content management, and digital tools. 
  • Ability to work independently within a defined strategy, while also collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders. 
  • A passion for social justice issues and a drive to make a positive impact in our communities. 

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. 
  • 3+ years of experience in advocacy campaign implementation, with a focus on digital platforms. 
  • Proficiency in web content management tools such as Canva, Mailchimp, and WordPress. 
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and mobilise supporters through digital channels. 
  • Experience in event planning, community organising, and understanding of Uniting Church structures are desirable.
