As a Human Resources Business partner, you will provide strategic HR support and guidance on employee relations, industrial relations and oversee the administrative duties of HR Frontline to ensure the accurate and efficient administration of all Human Resource processes and delivery across SYC.

Based at our Kent Town Head Office and reporting to the Head of Human Resources, you will proactively support the continual improvement of Human Resources systems, procedures, and practices. Day- to-day activities will include:

  • Providing advice to and mentoring managers on all aspects of people management as required.
  • Managing complex employee complaints, grievances, workplace investigations and mediations as required.
  • Providing timely, specialist advice and documentation for complex employee performance management and termination issues as required.
  • Developing and reviewing the update and maintenance of Human Resources policies, procedures, recruitment and selection tools, contract templates and other documentation as required to support compliance and continual improvement.
  • Contributing to the analysis of exit survey data to identify, address and improve employee management practices.
  • Overseeing the implementation, monitoring, and continual improvement of the Employee Development Program.

About You

You will have a strong background in human resources, best practices and the ability to accomplish specific goals and achieve quality outcomes. You will also be a highly motivated professional with a passion for driving organisational success through people, make sound judgements, based on thorough monitoring and analysis, problem-solving, innovation and evidence-based practice. To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in end-to-end management of employee relations matters, including performance management and disciplinary processes.
  • The ability to coach, mentor and lead managers and employees who are geographically dispersed.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of:
    • Employment Law and relevant Industrial Instruments, including Modern Awards.
    • Employee relations management principles and practices.
    • WHS legislation and regulations.
    • Worker’s Compensation.
  • Strong attention to detail balanced with the ability to see the bigger picture.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Time management and organisation skills, able to plan, prioritise and achieve outcomes with minimal supervision and/or direction and to successfully meet deadlines and KPIs.

For this role you will need to:

  • Complete a Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
  • Be eligible to work in Australia.
  • Have possession of a current valid Driver’s License, willingness to drive, and your own registered vehicle with a 4–5-star ANCAP safety rating.
