Our vision is a future where we share more, waste less and care for every child. Our Village (previously St Kilda Mums, Geelong Mums and Eureka Mums) collects, sorts and redistributes essential nursery equipment, clothing, books and toys for babies and children in response to requests from a statewide network of social workers and Maternal & Child Health Nurses.

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our Fundraising and Communications Team and manage the growth and implementation of our philanthropic campaigns.

Our Village is seeking a new part time (0.8 FTE) Philanthropy Manager to help us achieve the ambitious goals in our new strategy and reach every Victorian child that needs us by 2030. Join us at an exciting and pivotal time in our organisation’s growth as we bring our three branches together under one new brand. We’re looking for an excellent grant writer who loves meeting with donors and developing new funding opportunities – if this is you, we’d love to meet you.

Position overview

  • Responsible for securing over $1m per year in grant funding and cultivating donor relationships
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues right across the charity to build compelling cases for support, applications and pitches
  • Build positive relationships with grant funders and major donors
  • Ensure trusts and foundations are made to feel special, understand the impact of their funding and are provided with reports that meet their individual needs.

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and Communications, you will also work closely with our CEO and Board. It is hoped that as income grows, so will the resources to support this role.

Skills and attributes

  • Experience in a similar role with demonstrated knowledge in fundraising and philanthropy
  • Ability to nurture relationships with existing trusts and foundations
  • Able to identify, qualify and secure new philanthropic trusts and foundations
  • Strong copywriting skills and ability to develop compelling grants and proposals
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills
  • Highly motivated individual who is a great ‘connector’, ‘influencer’, and ‘networker’
  • Positive, engaging, and approachable attitude with a strong client-service focus and commitment
