About Doncare

Doncare is a not-for-profit community services organisation, operating in Melbourne’s Inner East since 1969. Doncare provides low-cost or free support to remedy the impacts of financial instability, food insecurity, inequity, family violence and social isolation. Doncare delivers high-quality, person-centred, strength-based individually tailored services. It operates its programs with funding from local, State and Federal governments as well as revenue from its two opportunity shops and the support of private donations, philanthropic trusts and the community sector.

Leadership Duties and Strategic Direction

The CEO will lead a talented and committed team to deliver a range of services and programs in the local community, fulfilling the purpose and core values of Doncare. With ambitious plans to increase the impact and influence of Doncare’s work, the CEO will lead the organisation to grow services and programs that support community capacity building and resilience as well as contributing to the organisation’s financial sustainability.

What We're Looking For in a CEO

First and foremost, you’ll be an experienced leader, aligned to the purpose and values of Doncare. With extensive experience in the delivery of human services, you’ll have a track record of building genuine and effective relationships with a multitude of stakeholders, including Government, sector partners, staff, and diverse communities and service users. As a leader, you’ll be visionary, fair and inclusive, kind and compassionate, with success in leading organisations that deliver complex services and programs to people and communities needing support. Finally, you’ll have the skills and ability to create and implement ‘what’s next’ for Doncare and its future impact.
