Sacred Heart Mission is a community of dedicated people working together to end homelessness and disadvantage. Our strength lies in our shared purpose and values. We welcome individuality and support each other to bring our best and whole selves to the work we do each day.
Join us in making a meaningful difference in a fun and friendly organisation with a big heart.
This position is for a period of approximately 12 months to cover parental leave.
Women’s House is an initial point of contact for women/non-binary people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. It aims to create a safe space that is welcoming and supportive offering healthy food, personal hygiene, laundry facilities and brief intervention housing support for up to 6 weeks. We interpret women’s experiences within a framework that acknowledges external factors that perpetuate disadvantage and commit to action towards a more equitable position in society for the women we support.
You will be the first point of contact for women wanting to access support so this role requires someone who can listen, understand, and respond to the complex needs of our women in a holistic way. Working in collaboration with internal and external service providers, the Pathways Worker offers purposeful engagement to assess and respond to women's needs by providing structured intervention, short-term housing, health & wellbeing support as well as practical assistance in the Women’s House.
The fun part is no day is the same at Women’s House!
