Child and Family Play Therapist

The Family Systems Hub

ABOUT YOUR ORGANISATION

After almost five years of growing the Play Therapy Hub, and helping children and families across Australia connect and heal, we decided it was time for a major change to our brand to bring it more in line with where we are now and where we are headed. While Play Therapy is still an important part of our offering, we know that it is just one way to achieve health, empowerment and harmony within the families we work with. So we are incredibly proud to introduce you to our new brand and a new name – The Family Systems Hub.

This change was an opportunity for us to connect with our mission – To heal and transform relationships within the family system one generation at a time. What a powerful statement that is. Our vision is to play a role in Raising the next generation of families to be more conscious, emotionally aware and connected , in order to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives.

As a family systems service, we seek to facilitate healing and positive change within the family dynamic and build and strengthen both the child, siblings and parents emotional, psychological and physiological capacities, aiming to create a ripple effect of transformation across generations. We focus on relationships within the family system and the gradual, generational impact of the work being done through our therapeutic offerings, which seeks to increase self-knowledge, self-discovery, reflective awareness, powerful perspective shifts, nervous system regulation, repatterning and rewiring.

Our methods are grounded in practical tools and integrated practices that blend eastern, esoteric and holistic presence, somatic and mindfulness-based practices and western psychology and psychotherapy, developmental and attachment and neuroscience informed practices.

We see a duty to not let the children carry the unresolved unconscious and conscious wounds of their parent's past that come from childhood and heritage, preventing them from being able to love themselves and others fully. We aim to empower, guide, and support children, through the parents, through their family system, in cultivating a strong sense of self-worth, emotional and social intelligence and unlocking their full potential to lead a fulfilling and authentic life.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are a multi disciplinary and systemic focused team that offers integrated psychotherapy and coaching, child and family based play therapy, filial family therapy, family constellation workshops, psychological astrology and many more holistic and therapeutic offerings that support the consciousness and healing of childhood and intergenerational trauma.

As an all rounder play therapist, you enjoy and feel very comfortable working therapeutically with parents and the parent - child dyad as you your core work will be providing in-person child focused and attachment based / family therapy play therapy.

TestimonialS

Does the above sound too good to be true…?

We have regular discussions with our team around how we can work on consistently improving as a practice and team. Below is some feedback from some of our team members:

Tallara Drew Hazou, Play Therapist: Working at The Family Systems Hub has been a life-changing experience. As a university graduate, I felt unsure about how I would fit in with the team. But the team at the Hub is like no other. They were welcoming and inclusive right from the start, and supported me to learn and grow at every opportunity. From chats in our breaks to social events, every conversation has been a learning opportunity. I am beyond grateful for the knowledge, expertise and kindness of the Play Therapy Hub team. I have learnt so much about myself as a person and as a Play Therapist. I can't imagine a more supportive team to work with and learn from. Thank you Helen, for creating such an incredible working environment.

Candela, Provisional Play Therapist: The Family Systems Hub has become in a short time a special place where I am growing not only professionally but also personally. Right from the start, I had ongoing support and I felt my ideas and background were welcomed and treasured. I love coming to work every day with amazing, collaborative, and warm colleagues who are deeply passionate about their job and helping others."
