We are an incorporated, not-for-profit, non-government community organisation that receives funding from the Department of Justice & Attorney-General to provide crisis, short term, supported accommodation for women and children escaping Domestic and Family violence in Logan, Queensland.

The organisation works from a framework that incorporates Feminist and Social Justice Principles providing high quality services which are culturally inclusive, non-judgemental, respectful, client focused, and strength based.

Our mission is to support women and children escaping Domestic and Family Violence, to experience a safe and secure environment, and to feel validated and empowered in making informed choices for their future direction.

The Role

The Manager will lead a team of experienced workers to deliver Domestic and Family Violence support and accommodation to women and children.

The Manager is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of all aspects of the organisation, including but not limited to;

  • Reporting to the funding body and Management Committee
  • Developing and reviewing Policies and Procedures
  • Complying with the HSQF, Audit preparation and participation
  • Financial Management of organisation
  • Ensuring Service delivery meets best practice.
  • Housing Management
  • Staff support and development, including Performance Appraisals
  • Arranging and participating in external professional supervision
  • Assisting staff with service delivery when necessary
  • Representing the service at Industry events
  • Some on-call requirements

The Manager will report to our Management Committee of Community Members who have significant expertise in a range of areas.

Full-time position – 5 days per week. Working hours: 9am to 5pm

SCHADS Level 4.3 + Salary Packaging

Essential Requirements of the position

  • Qualifications in Social Work, Human Services or related discipline.
  • Relevant professional experience in Management of NGO’s.
  • Experience in working in the Domestic and Family Violence field.
  • Current Working with Children Blue Card
  • Current Driving license

The successful applicant will have an understanding of, and a commitment to a feminist analysis of domestic violence, social justice values, beliefs and attitudes and be passionate about assisting women and children to live free from abuse
