If Family Life’s purpose and vision aligns with your values, join the close and connected P&C team as our People Partner! As an experienced HR Generalist, you will lead People & Culture processes and initiatives across two main areas, Employee Relations and Employee Engagement.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Lead and navigate a range of employee relations processes, varying from informal issues to more complex formal matters; including performance, conduct and termination processes, and case management of Industrial Relations matters.
  • Provide advice and develop strategies with leaders and teams across all areas of the employee life cycle, spanning from adept management of probationary periods to the implementation of goal-setting and developing strategies to build employee engagement.
  • Lead the People & Culture role in the management of organisational change and facilitate effective change management processes with relevant leaders.
  • Monitor and evaluate the employee experience through quarterly Employee Pulse Surveys and the Annual Experience Survey.
  • Develop and deliver People and Culture related training and other learning initiatives in consultation with the Learning & Development Partner.
  • Develop and review policies, frameworks and procedures.
  • Design, develop and implement people initiatives and projects, in relation to the People Pillar of the organisational Strategic Plan and Annual P&C plan.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as law, industrial relations or human resources.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar People and Culture/Human Resources role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of employment relations, and the application of policies, employment legislation and the application of industrial instruments.
  • Well-developed research, investigative and report writing skills with an ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated coaching, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • A flexible and adaptable attitude and a creative and innovative approach to People and Culture practices.
  • Substantial experience in the provision of Human Resources generalist support and advice.
  • Demonstrated relationship building skills with ability to develop rapport and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
