Systems Administrator - Australian Volunteers Program

The Australian Volunteers Program is an Australian Government funded initiative and is managed by AVI. The program supports skilled Australian volunteers to work alongside organisations to sustainably build the capacity of people, organisations and communities in various countries across the Pacific, Asia and Africa.

ROLE OVERVIEW

This role will be the first point of contact for end-user support requests and assist in the delivery of technology and infrastructure projects and maintenance activities, to support the efficient and effective implementation of the Australian Volunteers Program.

Due to the nature of the work, and in line with the AVI Hybrid Work policy, this will be an in-office role, and will be expected to be onsite for four days per week. Flexibility to this requirement will be available in line with AVI’s policies and Enterprise Agreement.

THIS ROLE WILL SUIT SOMEONE WITH:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT and/or equivalent experience in a similar systems administration/support role.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in first/second level support (MS Office, hardware, telephony etc.)
  • Ability to simplify information and technical jargon so that it is understood by stakeholders (end users)
  • Strong networking experience with firewalls, routers and switches. (Cisco, Fortinet)
  • Strong experience with Active Directory user, group and group policy management
  • Experience of management of Microsoft365 (SharePoint Online, Exchange Online etc.)
  • Experience with MS Azure and / or Amazon Web Services
  • Experience with Salesforce administration
  • Experience with VMware ESX server
  • SharePoint Online framework design experience (highly regarded)
  • Exposure to Salesforce Experience Cloud Builder
  • Coordinating external service providers and consultants to deliver development in a timely, accurate and cost-effective manner.
