We are searching for a self-assured, fully engaged facilitator to lead group conversations about Anti-Racism among young people in schools.
JOB DETAILS:
- Casual job / paid per workshop.
- Workshop delivery will be between July and September 2024.
- Workshops will be for Year 8/9 students and will be delivered in up to 20 schools.
- Working With Children Check is mandatory.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Demonstrable and relevant facilitation experience.
- Critical understanding of racism and colonialism in an Australian context and commitment to First Nations justice.
- Experience engaging and working with young people
- Ability to drive critical, student-led dialogues and work with people with varied levels of understanding of racism.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Lived experience of racism.
FACILITATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supporting and guiding discussions among young people in a classroom environment
- Facilitating in a collaborative environment which includes co-facilitating and engaging with a school teacher
- Providing an inclusive and respectful classroom environment
- Encouraging respect for ideas voiced during facilitation.
- Steering conversations about the learning material.
- Extracting varied insights from participants.
- Reporting to the Anti-Racism Workshop Coordinator
