Overview of Organisation

Refugee Legal is an independent community legal centre specialising in all aspects of refugee and immigration law, policy and practice. Refugee Legal has been assisting asylum seekers, refugees and disadvantaged migrants in the community and in detention for over 28 years and has substantial casework experience and expertise. Refugee Legal’s work involves provision of key legal assistance to those who could not otherwise obtain it due to financial and other forms of distinct disadvantage often related to their cultural or linguistically diverse backgrounds or experiences of torture or trauma. Last year Refugee Legal assisted over 12,500 people.

Refugee Legal is one of the leading providers in Australia of education and training in all aspects of Australia’s refugee and immigration program.

Our activities in this area are focused on professional training and development, and community education. 

Position Overview

  • Part-time: 3 to 4 days per week.

The Legal Education and Training Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Planning, coordination and implementation of Refugee Legal’s education and training programs; and
  • Development and implementation of a national marketing, promotions and communication strategy for all of Refugee Legal’s education and training Programs.

The Legal Education and Training Coordinator reports directly and is responsible to the Refugee Legal Education Manager.
