Based in St Kilda, the Port Phillip Community Group (PPCG) is a community-based organisation that seeks to build social cohesion and promote equitable access to services and opportunities for local residents.
The Learning Facilitator Research Officer is a pivotal position in the implementation of a research project that will pilot and evaluate a ‘relationship focussed learning framework’. This framework will be designed to attract and retain highly disadvantaged people, thus increasing their readiness to learn and to actively engage in training, employment and lifelong learning pathways. The research project is being conducted in partnership with RMIT and Elwood St Kilda Neighbourhood Learning Centre.
In consultation with the team and in response to participants’ interests you will be responsible for planning and delivering workshops that are relevant and engaging for the participant group. You will also be part of the research team and take a key role in writing up the project findings.
Main role and duties of the position
- Work collaboratively as part of the project team inc. contributing to regular project team & partner meetings
- Plan and deliver workshops for participant group
- Develop learning activities based on needs identified by the participant group
- Work with participants to pilot a new learning framework
- Engage with adult learning and community stakeholders to identify appropriate learning opportunities
- Collect evaluation data and inform the project evaluation
- Take key role in analysis of data, writing up project findings and the final report
