The Board of the Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) are seeking to appoint the inaugural CEO for this emerging organisation.

Key to the position will be strategic leadership in steering OPAN into a future that balances implementation of a consistent national approach to aged care advocacy with tailored local responses and needs. The Board seeks someone with the capacity to lead in a collaborative manner, ensuring delivery on projects and KPIs in a pragmatic way. The CEO must be able to demonstrate high level leadership, governance and vision, and deliver complex national projects. Key to the role is working with the member organisations, sector and key stakeholders to deliver national consistency in information, education and individual advocacy for current and potential Commonwealth aged-care recipients.

The Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) is a national network comprised of nine state and territory organisations that have been successfully delivering advocacy, information and education services to older people in metropolitan, regional, rural and remote Australia for over 25 years.

OPAN is funded by the Australian Government’s National Aged Care Advocacy Program (NACAP) and aims to provide a national voice for aged care advocacy and promote excellence and national consistency in the delivery of advocacy services under the Program. OPAN’s members provide NACAP service delivery to their jurisdiction or catchment through information, education and individual advocacy support.
