Located in Blacktown, the program operates across the Department of Family and Community Services Western Sydney and Nepean Blue Mountains Districts and include foster care, kinship care, specialist youth homelessness, HYAP, early intervention and case management services. These services are funded through the permanency support, specialist homelessness services and early intervention and placement prevention programs.

The Foster Care Caseworker is responsible for providing high quality and effective case management services within a therapeutic and trauma informed model for children and young people in foster care and supporting, supervising and assessing foster carers to ensure placements are safe, nurturing and child focused.

If you have tertiary qualifications in social work or a relevant discipline with demonstrated experience in casework with at risk youth within OOHC in residential or foster care settings or a similar child protection/ early intervention background and a good grasp of the child protection frameworks we would be keen to hear from you.

This role will also require you to:

  • Work collaboratively with other internal services and external support programs and stakeholders
  • Conduct client visits, assess carers, accurately record all key interactions and case notes to ensure compliance
  • Develop and review case management and behaviour support plans and work alongside carers building their capacity to meet the needs of the foster care child
