An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Partnership & Stakeholder Manager to join the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation (WBCF).

Who we are

The mission of the Western Bulldogs is ‘to be the community where people are at their best’. This extends beyond the field, beyond membership numbers and beyond commercial partnerships.

We are more than just a football club. The WBCF provides people living in the western suburbs of Melbourne and the western region of Victoria with the tools to succeed within their community. We have a long, proud history as the community club of the AFL, delivering capacity building programs with real outcomes. The Foundation plays a pivotal role in helping our people reach their full potential, ensuring they are accepted regardless of their background, gender, race or faith.

What we do

We deliver innovative and engaging community services and programs for individuals and families who live and work in the west. Out strategic priorities are promoting social inclusion, cross cultural awareness, mental and physical health and gender equity.

The WBCF works in partnership with government, corporate and community agencies to deliver services and programs to over 5000 people annually.

About the role

This newly created position will be responsible for the development of innovative new business opportunities and partnerships as well as building a strong profile and brand awareness for the WBCF. The role will be instrumental in driving collaboration within the WBCF and across the Club.

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop and execute new business pitches for corporate, philanthropic, community and government partners.
  • Assist the commercial team to uncover new and innovative assets to be commercialised.
  • Work with the commercial team to identify new partnership opportunities and strengthen existing partnerships.
  • Develop a tiered investment model for corporate partnerships.
  • Develop a framework for reporting return on investment to corporate partners.
  • Assist with product development and leading the sales of WBCF social enterprise products.
  • Work with the commercial team to develop and maintain first class administration on all financial accounts.
  • Represent WBCF at a senior level at events and meetings as required.
  • Establish and maintain strong professional working relationships with all key stakeholders involved with the WBCF.
  • Collaborate with the Club marketing team to identify and implement opportunities to increase the profile of WBCF.
  • Utilise the Club brand, players, communication channels and match days to drive social change and build WBCF profile.
  • Develop an effective data capture and storage mechanism.
  • Represent WBCF on Club committees and work closely with other relevant departments and key external relationships to further align priorities.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Strong Knowledge & Experience in Sponsorship, Business Development & Corporate Sales
  • Demonstrated high level written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Demonstrated experience of stakeholder engagement, negotiation and relationship management across sectors
  • Strong administration skills
  • Team player with a positive can-do attitude
  • Experience in Marketing & Communications would be advantageous
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative, meet tight time frames, and to work with limited supervision
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience & track record in a similar role
  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business Management and or Commerce
