Future Super

Our purpose is to help Australians to use their savings to create a fairer, brighter, renewable energy powered future. To do this, we created an ethical and fossil-free superannuation fund. So, instead of investing in climate polluters and other harmful industries (like tobacco, gambling, detention centres and live animal export, to name just a few), we invest in new solar farms, clean tech start-ups and other exceptional companies whose activities are making the world a better place.

As an Investment Analyst at Future Super you will be responsible for ensuring our values are incorporated into our investment decisions. You will be actively involved in deciding which assets we include in our portfolios, and the way in which we deploy funds on behalf of our valued members.

Responsibilities

Reporting directly to a Portfolio Manager, as an Investment Analyst at Future Super you would:

  • Provide assistance to the Portfolio Manager’s investment analysis and research processes;
  • Support the Investment Team with portfolio construction, optimisation, process, and evaluation of assets;
  • Develop various financial models, including risk, attribution, and performance measurement;
  • Assist the team in the development of investment policy and strategy;
  • Support the ongoing relationship with key partners (e.g. fund administrator, trustee, promoter, custodian, fund managers and brokers);
  • Manage the production of end of month and quarterly investment reports;
  • Produce and deliver Investment Team presentations;
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policy requirements;
  • Assist with the development of new products, including both traditional superannuation products and new products that align with Future Super’s strategic vision for the future.

Requisite Experience

  • 3-5 years’ of experience within the financial services industry;
  • Experience in, or working closely with, portfolio management;
  • Experience working with financial/market data (Reuters or Bloomberg);
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Strong attention to detail.

Desirable experience

  • Data analysis using SQL or equivalent;
  • Advanced VBA skills.

As Future Super is rapidly growing, it is anticipated that your role as Investment Analyst will evolve over time. We want you to feel empowered in your career, and expect you to be involved in the decisions we make about the scope and focus of your role as it changes over time.

Terms

  • Hours: Full-time
  • Location: Sydney
  • Generous staff benefits, including 14 weeks’ parental leave for all genders and a generous parental superannuation package, formal training and continuous improvement opportunities, healthy office snacks and membership to Bicycle NSW as part of our active and sustainable transport policy.

Future Super is an equal opportunity employer – we provide flexible working hours, the option to work from home and a laptop you can use to work remotely.

Please note that successful candidates would need to be based in Sydney and available towards the beginning of a normal business day (candidates would need to be present in the office for the first half of the day, however we are happy to discuss flexible afternoon working arrangements).
