The Elizabeth Evatt Community Legal Centre (EECLC) are seeking passionate and motivated solicitor/s. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of dedicated professionals. We are seeking a solicitor to work in Bathurst, based at the Family Relationship Centre. We are also seeking a solicitor to attend outreach in Lithgow and work in our Katoomba office. We think these are 2 part-time positions (21 hours week) but perhaps could be a fulltime position for the right person. Working in Bathurst will require an ability to work autonomously, while still staying connected with the main office in Katoomba.

Employment will be offered on a permanent basis.

We are seeking solicitor/s with at least 2 years post admission experience. As a generalist legal centre legal advice and casework will be required across a broad range of practice areas.

Experience working with victims/survivors of family violence and knowledge and experience in family law is an essential criterion. Attendance at Bathurst AVO list day will be required for the solicitor working in Bathurst.

Key responsibilities

  • All aspects of legal service delivery including representation, advocacy, casework and advice
  • Manage your file load autonomously
  • Building and maintaining relationships with other legal and non-legal service providers
  • Participation in community legal education programs
