The Opportunity:

Berry Street’s Northern Therapeutic Family Interventions team is seeking a part time (0.6EFT) Positive Shift Facilitator position which is fixed term until 30 June 2020.

Positive Shift works from an Ecological Nested Model and provides a 16-week evidenced-based curriculum addressing women's use of force. The specifically modified curriculum focuses on the group members’ motivations, intent, and consequences of their actions. The curriculum emphasises that the use of force is not appropriate and teaches healthy alternatives.

Key Responsibilities:

The Positive Shift Facilitator provides therapeutic group work and case management services to women who use force in intimate relationships. The Facilitator will work in partnership with the women, partner agencies and other stakeholders to assist the recovery of the women impacted by family violence and trauma.

About You:

We are seeking a tertiary qualified professional who possesses the following skills:

  • Have completed the Positive Shift training – full completion of this training is a non-negotiable requirement in applying for the role
  • Have experience and knowledge of the family violence sector in Victoria and more broadly Australia
  • Have extensive experience in delivering groups and maintaining group cohesion
  • Have extensive experience in community engagement and developing relationships with key stakeholders
