Our Client is a National, multi-faceted organisation that works with the most disadvantaged in the community. This role is within a program that provides support to vulnerable families with children aged 0-8 years of age. The early intervention program prevents these families from entering or escalating into the child protection system. My Client is in the process of implementing a new evidence biased early intervention framework. This model includes coaching and mentoring parents, working under a behaviour change model, using a therapeutic approach to build the parents capacity and problem-solving skills.

This role will involve:

  • Maintain a caseload of 8-12 families, including conducting regular home visits
  • Engage in and support families with recorded sessions, for practice review and fidelity
  • Use reflective practice and regularly engage in Group Supervision with the team
  • Work with the leadership team to develop, implement, maintain and consistently review an evidence-informed practice model
  • Work in collaboration with families and other stakeholders to develop plans to address identified Risk of Harm and Risk of Significant Harm concerns
  • Work in a coaching and mentoring role for parents
  • Working under the behaviour change model, building parents capacity, problem-solving coping skills. New Framework

My Client is looking for a someone who is willing to coach and mentor families in voice recorded session. Someone who likes to work with structure and routine. A successful candidate will be child-focused and have the ability to work with families to set and achieve small goals.   

The requirements for this role include:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or a related field
  • At least 2 years’ experience working with families
  • Cultural competence and experience working with CALD and Aboriginal families
  • Ability to liaise, network and maintain solid working relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to engage families from initial service contact, building relationships of trust and cooperation, problem solve and support planning
  • Current driver’s licence

Desirable:

  • Experience in SafeCare delivery or other evidence-based parenting programs.
