The Organisation

An exciting opportunity has become available to work for Barnardos, one of Australia’s leading children’s charities. We are looking for a part-time (28 hours / 4 days per week) permanent Family and Community Violence Case Worker for the Domestic, Family & Community Violence Program based in Cranebrook, Penrith.

The Role

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Family and Community Violence Case Worker will provide a crisis intervention case work service to children and primary carers; experiencing family violence. The Family and Community Violence Case Worker will also engage the community through outreach programs via group programming within primary and secondary schools; community outreach in the Cranebrook estate and Penrith LGA; and participation in Educational events and days.

The Candidate

The ideal Family and Community Violence Case Worker will have:

  • A tertiary level qualification in Social Work, Social Welfare or a related discipline
  • Demonstrate experience supporting adults, young people and children affected by domestic and family violence
  • Case management experience
  • Knowledge of child development and parenting capacity
  • Knowledge of the Domestic and Personal Violence Act, and knowledge around court processes pertaining to AVOs
  • Must be willing to engage in outreach work which involves direct work with clients and the community
  • Demonstrated experience of using a electronic case management tool

Additional Information

You will also need a valid NSW driving license, a working with children check and the ability to work on occasion outside of Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm when required to respond to a planned or unplanned event 


  • Salary: $63,074 - $70, 248 pro rata (base and superannuation)
