The Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission is an independent statutory body with responsibilities under three Victorian laws: the Equal Opportunity Act 2010, Racial and Religious Tolerance Act 2001, and Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006.

About the role

An exciting opportunity is available in the Policy and Research Branch for a Policy and Research Officer to undertake key strategic projects and research activities that identify and seek to address systemic discrimination and human rights issues.

About you

We are looking for an experienced and motivated team player who is committed to helping shape Victoria’s future as a fairer and more equal place to live and work.

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • A proven experience in using a range of different strategies and techniques to achieve substantive change and improved outcomes for people experiencing disadvantage
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to establish strong relationships with a range of stakeholders in order to achieve change
  • Superior written communication and policy skills.

Qualifications in social or legal policy and/or substantial experience in a policy and research role would be highly regarded.
