Women’s Legal Services NSW (WLS) is a community legal centre for disadvantaged women in NSW. We advise and represent women in a range of practice areas including discrimination, family law, domestic violence, sexual assault and victims compensation.

This position is well suited to an advocate with substantial experience and a strong background in discrimination law and policy.

In this position you will report directly to the Principal Solicitor and work closely with the Executive Officer. You will also collaboratively work with the Indigenous Women’s Program Co-ordinator and Indigenous staff to provide culturally appropriate consultation processes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women throughout NSW.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Legal or policy qualifications;
  • Understanding of the cultural, social, economic and political issues facing disadvantaged women in NSW;
  • Experience with/appreciation of Indigenous women’s issues;
  • High level legal strategic advice and negotiation skills;
Interpersonal, cross-cultural and leadership skills;
  • Experience working in the community or public sector

Salary range: $60,542 – $77,808 p.a.
