The National Social Security Rights Network (NSSRN) is a peak community organisation in the area of income support law, policy and administration. Our members are community legal centres across the country who provide free and independent legal assistance to current and former social security and family assistance claimants and recipients.

The NSSRN seeks to recruit a Law Reform, Policy and Communications Officer (LPCO) to play a key role in providing legal information and analysis to the NSSRN, its members and other stakeholders. The LPCO will engage in analysis of casework data and information provided by members to inform the NSSRN’s policy positions.

This is an exciting new role where you will have the opportunity to assist in the development and implementation of a strategic communications plan to ensure the impact of NSSRN views on law reform relevant to Social Security law, policy and administration.

You will be responsible for driving the NSSRN Secretariat’s “business as usual” workload of providing submissions to all Parliamentary Inquiries and other consultations relevant to Social Security law, policy and administration issues in consultation with the Executive Officer and NSSRN members. You will also contribute to the major research projects undertaken by the NSSRN every six months.

As the NSSRN is a small and dynamic organisation, the ability to work flexibly and independently is essential.

Salary: $84,138 per annum plus superannuation and salary packaging.
