Vision Australia is a leading national provider of blindness and low vision services in Australia. One of the ways we do this is by providing home care package services to our clients.

Responsibilities:

As a Home Care Packages Community Carer at Vision Australia you will:

  • Assisting consumers with domestic tasks such as laundry, ironing, meal preparation, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, dusting, bed linen changes, bath, toilet and shower cleaning and reaching up to cupboards
  • Assisting consumers with shopping, paying accounts, monitoring consumers safety and well-being, transferring consumers from chair to bed/chair and supporting consumers when unstable with mobility
  • Complying with the Care Workers Manual
  • Working with the Team Leader in ensuring the client’s services are being delivered correctly and in accordance with their wishes

Requirements:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Certificate III in Aged Care, or the willingness to undertake studies to achieve this minimum
  • Level 2 First Aid Certificate or current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate, or the willingness to undertake studies to achieve this minimum
  • Able to travel independently
  • A commitment to supporting elderly people in their home
  • Prior experience of working with people who have dementia (desirable not essential)
