About the role:

Our Strategic Communications team is looking for a highly motivated Communications professional to deliver communications advice and support our legal program areas in line with VLA's strategic priorities.

You will prepare communication materials including media releases and web content, develop key messages and identify target audiences and stakeholders in contributing to and supporting effective communications strategies and activities. You will work collaboratively with VLA's legal program areas to deliver effective, timely and high-quality print, digital and multimedia communication materials. You will also assist in responding to media enquiries in a timely and appropriate manner, in accordance with established protocols.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Communications professional looking to gain experience in an advisor role within a supportive team environment and a strong interest in supporting the delivery of legal aid programs and services and promoting their value in the community.

About you:

You will demonstrate experience in developing communications materials and digital content creation in a range of channels, preferably in the not for profit, government and/or legal sectors.

Critical to your success in the role will be your highly developed written and verbal communication skills including ability to apply plain language expertise and adapting content for different audiences and channels and in different multimedia formats. You will also have an interest in the production of innovative and digital communication materials and demonstrate a commitment to working collaboratively and effectively with stakeholders at all levels
