Social justice is at the heart of UTS’s vision and purpose.

Launched in 2018, the Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion is the first of its kind. A coordinating vehicle for the Social Impact Framework across the university, it is also responsible for leading and evaluating a number of whole of university equity and diversity strategies, including the Athena Swan pilot, the university’s Widening Participation Strategy, and the UTS Access and Inclusion Plan.

Deeply embedded within UTS recent 2027 strategy release, the Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion play an integral role in the continued implementation of UTS’s “Social Impact Framework” and in ensuring that UTS’s legacy is steeped in its commitment to social justice.

The UTS Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion are recruiting an Engagement and Events Officer who will be responsible for various projects and ongoing tasks associated with supporting the business development and engagement portfolio for the Centre.

The Engagement and Events Officer will provide support to the Partnerships Manager in implementing the Centres business development and engagement objectives. The successful candidate will work to support the management of existing relationships and developing new ones in the area of advancement, industry, government and research partners. The Engagements and Events Officer will also help to coordinate internal and external event and manage internal engagement communications with the intention of generating interest and support.

What will you bring to the role?

With a passion for social justice and inclusion, you will be experienced in working with a variety of external stakeholders (community, corporate and/or public) and be able to coordinate and collaborate with, both, internal and external stakeholders across a range of inter-cultural and professional settings.

The successful applicant will have demonstrated skills in data and records management, social networking and communications coupled with a high level of attention to detail, organisation and time management skills.

A strong client service focus, experience working within a small team and the management of resources, reporting and compliance will be key to success in this role.

You will be a proven engagement and events professional and have honed project management skills.

Remuneration & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $80,009 to $86,630 pa (HEW 6)

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 2 years.
