A Research Assistant is required to assist the research of the Climate Justice research program at UNSW.

The person will conduct background research on a range of climate related topics including, but not limited to:

  • Climate Justice
  • The Carbon Budget and emissions data
  • Fossil Fuel exports
  • Ethical issues associated with transitioning to a low carbon society

The position will also involve editing, proofing and publishing content.

The position offers the opportunity and resources for the successful applicant to develop a range of activities in connection with key topics in the area of justice and climate change and to explore their applied implications.

The project sits within the climate justice program of the Practical Justice Initiative at the University of New South Wales. The position offers the opportunity to work within a vibrant research environment and to interact with a large community of climate researchers at UNSW.

The applicant must have excellent research and communication skills.

The disciplinary background of the applicant is open.

The position may also encompass assistance with the production of research papers, reports, undertaking background research, assisting with the organisation of events as well as the opportunity to produce high quality individual research.

The position is casual and for 1-3 days per week depending on the range of tasks.

Start date: April 2019.
